Pioneering ESPN Personality Linda Cohn to Speak at ECAC Convention and Trade Show

CENTERVILLE, Mass.--Veteran ESPN SportsCenter anchor Linda Cohn will address the delegates of the  2012 ECAC Convention and Trade Show on Monday, October 1, in Groton, Conn.

A pioneer for women sportscasters, Cohn has served as an anchor for ESPN’s SportsCenter since 1992. She authored the popular book "Cohn-Head" in which she tells her story of a no-holds-barred account of breaking into the boys’ club. A true sports fan at heart, Linda has also covered a range of sporting events including college football and basketball, the Super Bowl, NASCAR, golf, Winter X-Games and the WNBA for ESPN. She previously hosted ESPN’s Baseball Tonight and National Hockey Night, and has provided play-by-play for ESPN/ESPN2’s LPGA and WNBA coverage.

In 1981, Cohn received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the State University of New York at Oswego. That same year, she began sports broadcasting for a local New York radio station.  In 1989, she began working at the KIRO-TV station in Seattle, where she was a weekend sports reporter/anchor.
