Fields Announced for ECAC Indoor Tennis Championships
CENTERVILLE, Mass. - The 2012 Eastern College Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Indoor Tennis Championship fields were determined on Tuesday, which will be held Friday, February 17 to Sunday, February 19 at Dartmouth College and Yale University respectively. Both championship tournaments will consist of eight-team, single elimination formats to be seeded on Monday, February 6.
Host and three-time defending champion Yale will headline the ECAC women’s field, which will also feature Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth, Princeton University, Boston College, Fairleigh Dickinson University and Brown University. The top three placing institutions from 2011 will return as Princeton finished second to Yale after falling in the championship match last season, and Brown defeated Harvard University in the consolation match to take third.
Dartmouth will host the men’s field, which includes 2011 champion Cornell. Joining Dartmouth and Cornell will be Brown, Columbia, Harvard, Princeton, St. John’s University and Yale. Cornell defeated Binghamton University (4-3) in the championship match of a 10-team field last season.
