Lesley University - Assistant Track and Field Coach

Lesley University, an NCAA Division III institution encourages applicants to apply for the Assistant Track & Field coaching position.

This position is responsible for the coaching and supervision of the Lesley Track & Field team, working specifically with sprinters and hurdlers. Recruiting, academic progress, community service, and travel are also a part of this position. Some knowledge of strength and conditioning is also needed. This person works under the direction of the Head Track Coach.


1. Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the program.
2. Assist the head coach with individual skills and team concepts.
3. Assist with the planning and attend all practices, meets, conditioning, and tryouts.
4. Identification, assessment, and recruitment of qualified student-athletes.
5. Work with the student-athlete academic coordinator.
6. Assist with the planning, coordination and supervision of fundraising events.
7. Provide an example of leadership and competitive but sportsmanlike conduct.
8. Become familiar with and implement all necessary college policies, rules, regulations and guidelines as they relate to this position, including student rights and responsibilities concerning harassment of any kind and drug and alcohol use.
9. Perform other related duties as assigned.
10. Adhere to all Lesley University, New England Collegiate Conference, NEICAAA, ECAC and NCAA rules.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree
2. Successful experience as a track & field coach and/or player at the college level.
3. Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations.
4. Experience recruiting student athletes in a college setting.

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
