Men’s and women’s ice hockey assistants – Jennifer Michaels was named assistant coach of the women’s ice hockey program at St. Michael’s. Michaels was an ice hockey student-athlete at Manhattanville during the 2005-06 season and most recently coached at the youth level.

Athletics communications – Western New England hired Matt Pettnicchi as an athletics communication assistant. Pettnicchi spent the past three years serving as the sports information coordinator and assistant commissioner for sports information at The Commonwealth Coast Conference.

Athletics administrators – Vaughn Calhoun, formerly an assistant commissioner at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference, was named an athletics administrator at Emerson.

Men’s and women’s lacrosse – Bridgeport hired Kate Backman as head coach of the women’s lacrosse program. Backman previously served as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Quinnipiac since 2008. The Purple Knights’ program begins its inaugural season in the spring of 2011 … Nathanial Mayo was selected as head coach of the men’s lacrosse program at Emerson. Mayo was most recently an assistant coach for the men’s lacrosse program at Hartford.

The Commonwealth Coast Conference named Katelin McDevitt assistant commissioner for sports information. McDevitt, who will also work with conference championships and committees, recently held graduate assistantships at Springfield and Western New England.

Women’s basketball assistants – Delaware hired Mark McCaleb and Allie Fedorowicz as assistant coach and director of basketball operations, respectively. McCaleb spent the past six seasons as head coach of the women’s basketball program at Bridgeport. Fedorowicz recently completed her career as a basketball student-athlete at Cornell, where she also worked in the athletics department.

 

September 16, 2010

Rhode Island announced that Gregg Burke, deputy director of athletics, will take over as head coach of the men’s golf program, effective in May 2011. Burke, who will retain his current position, will serve as an assistant coach with team until current head coach Tom Drennan retires.

Men’s and women’s lacrosse assistants – Jessica Davos was hired as an assistant coach for the women’s lacrosse program at Albany. Davos was an assistant for the women’s lacrosse program at Harvard the past two seasons.

Men’s and women’s swimming and diving assistants – Siena named Sean Bradke as women’s diving coach. Bradke spent the past five seasons as head diving coach and swimming and diving recruiting coordinator for the men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs at SUNY Potsdam.
